Amir Allen – Tutor
I specialize in tutoring Math and Science. Specifically I cover all levels of High school math, as well as Math ACT prep. In science I primarily teach ACT/SAT prep, and logical reasoning. A session with me comes with a wide range of prior experience with tutoring and testing. I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where I’d help my colleagues and teammates with a number of subjects. I like to think I bring an enthusiastic and empathetic approach to tutoring, with my number 1 goal being success. I am flexible in my time and look forward to being a part of the growth in our local students. I personalize all my lessons in order to suit the student to give them the best chance of success. Teaching is something I love to do and giving back to the community makes it so much better.
Professor Richmond Frielund – Tutor
Richmond Frielund is a retired educator with forty years of teaching experience. Working primarily in a college liberal arts environment, he has taught courses in Expository Writing, Oral Interpretation of Literature, and an extensive variety of Theatre Arts courses, primarily in the Design and Technical areas. He also taught for one and a half years in London, working with liberal arts students from America, helping them with the experience of seeing and writing about London theatre.
Outside his academic interests, he is still involved with theatre production through the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and production work at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. He also devotes his free time to cooking, gardening, reading and his three Scottish terriers.
David Peterson – Office Manager
I am a lifelong resident of the City of Appleton. After completing high school at Appleton North, I graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Business Degree focusing on Marketing and Operations Management. In addition, I also have a degree from Fox Valley Technical College in Paralegal studies. I enjoy working with a local company that provides a great service to the people of the Fox Valley. I perform many of the Administrative tasks for the Learning Center and also work with the parents of our students to make sure we create a tutoring schedule that will best meet each student’s individual needs. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, fishing, kayaking, sightseeing and just about anything outdoors.
